The trip went great. We had two minor problems. I pulled the car into the driveway of the home we were staying at and the car would not start after it had sat there for a few minutes. It did not help to jump it. So, we got there on Saturday and Monday morning I had to put a new starter into the vehicle.
Back to the class and podcasts. I would probably use this to give the students directions on how I wanted an assignemnt done. This could include material to be read, researched, reviewed or analized. You could also use this at different learning stations to show the student what they were to do next. This could also be set up individually depending on each childs ability.
Since I will probably be subbing this fall, I will try to have some pod casts developed say to teach students unique facts on history or even about current events.
I saw a real neat website on pod casting. It is called "Our City". What this site does is have students from different cities all over the world do pod casts and also show different unique landmarks in each city. An example for Fort Wayne would be the Franke Park Childrens Zoo.
With this site you could teach the students about geography, mathematics, and English.
